Bridlemile Foundation

The Bridlemile Foundation is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that was formed in 1994 by a group of concerned parents in anticipation of school budget cuts. The mission of the foundation is to provide ongoing financial support for Bridlemile School to ensure quality education for all students.  Since its formation, the Bridlemile Foundation has served as a source of additional funding for teaching positions and important school programs.  Funding proposals are developed by the Principal and are submitted to the Foundation Board of Directors. All expenditures are approved by the Principal, working in conjunction with the Board.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of parent volunteers. New Board members are appointed each year in March for a three-year term. The Foundation raises funds for Bridlemile through a number of functions, including a telephone campaign, an adult evening and auction, the ongoing scrip program and other activities.Parent participation in these fundraising events is welcome and encouraged, as are your comments and concerns.

Site Council

The Bridlemile Site Council was established though the Educational Reform Act in 1993 to help our school meet the proposed guidelines for education standards in the 21st century.  The Site Council consists of the principal, staff members and parents.  Parents and staff members are elected by their respective peers for 2-year terms.  Meetings are open - please contact the office for meeting dates and times.  Primary area of concern is school improvement, a process achieved through a written plan for school which is updated annually.  Look for minutes, meeting times and Site Council Plan updates on the bulletin board around the corner from the office.  For more information contact Tanya Ghattas at 503-916-6292.
